Each variety is organically grown in its perfect environment. Reishi and Lion’s Mane prefer the cool shelter of humid shade houses, while Cordyceps are nurtured indoors under carefully controlled conditions. Our Chaga is foraged wild, where it grows naturally on birch trees.
We wait patiently for each mushroom to reach its fullest potential — then harvest by hand, just as nature intended.
Fruiting Body vs Mycelium
Before exploring our extracts, it’s important to understand the parts of a mushroom.
The fruiting body is the visible mushroom — like the apple on a tree — while the mycelium is the root-like network that grows underground or within wood. Though the mycelium sustains the fungus, it’s the fruiting body that contains the highest concentrations of beneficial compounds such as beta-glucans, polysaccharides, and antioxidants.
At Nourish Harvest, we exclusively use 100% organic fruiting bodies in our extracts — no mycelium, no grain, and no fillers. Just the purest, most potent part of the mushroom.
Extraction Process
Harvesting is just the beginning. Each mushroom is hand-selected or sustainably foraged, then carefully dried and milled into a fine powder — increasing the surface area to unlock its full potential.
Using pure filtered water and controlled heat, we extract the active compounds by breaking down the tough chitin cell walls. Depending on the mushroom strain, this extraction is repeated up to three times to ensure maximum potency.
Once the cell walls are cracked, the powerful polysaccharides and beta-glucans are released — becoming fully bioavailable, so your body can absorb and benefit from their natural strength.
Spray-Drying
After extraction, the liquid is separated from the mushroom fibres and carefully concentrated to achieve the perfect density. From there, it’s ready for spray-drying — a process that gently removes any remaining moisture, locking in freshness and preventing spoilage.
Finally, the powder is passed through a fine mesh sieve to catch any coarse particles, ensuring a consistently smooth and pure final product.
Testing
Before anything reaches you, every batch of our mushroom extracts undergoes rigorous testing for heavy metals, molds, and other unwanted contaminants.
Once they pass quality control, the powders move to final testing, where we measure the polysaccharide content — using UV light to determine the exact percentage, ensuring every product delivers the potency and purity we promise.
Final Stage
Once extracted and tested, our pure mushroom concentrates are carefully packaged — designed to look beautiful and ready to serve.
